This is a fascinating opportunity to join an upcoming Flag Expedition to Menorca with Trevor Wallace, our “New Explorer of the Year” in 2018 and our national Explorer’s Club VP of Research.
They have scholarships and ample spots to fill in all three sessions (dates below). The field school includes a PADI specialty course, Exploration Diver: Underwater Archaeology, that was designed by Hawai’i chapter member and treasurer Marc Langevin MN’23, specifically for our site in Menorca.
Other club members of the expedition include Dr. Gino Caspari LF’15, Dave Hodge MN’17, Joe Watson MN’19, Karl Kirchner, Dr. Benjamin Pothier MI’17, Dr. JJ Rouscher MN’23, Dr. Carlos Felipe Velasco TM’18, and Lowell Thomas Medalist, David Mearns. At 15 feet deep, right in the old harbor of Ciutadella, it is the perfect location for training underwater archaeologists and explorers interested in breaking into this world while doing meaningful science. Our partnership with the Can Saura Museum allows us to host our workshop series in their beautiful 16th-century villa collection space.
